A department of one applies to many, whether it be literally serving as the department, building your personal brand, or being a leader and managing multiple service lines simultaneously. Regardless of your specifics, your everyday likely takes a lot of work, dedication, juggling multiple assignments, performing functions that are not in “your job description”, and the occasional long hours. That being said… it’s completely manageable!
Three years ago, I nervously accepted a position as a one-person marketing department. I thought I was in over my head, and as it turned out, I proved to myself and my firm that we were a perfect fit to achieve greatness.
